Safari Chair by Börje Johanson for Johanson Design, 1970s

The Swedish designer Börje Johanson completely reinterpreted the safari principle in the 1970s by replacing the traditional wooden frame with high-gloss chrome-plated tubular steel and exchanging heavy canvas or core leather for softly draping, shimmering black upholstery leather. The functional spirit of the rustic expedition chair merged here with the glamorous disco aesthetic of the 70s. Good condition with light signs of wear. Shipping is disassembled.
