This is a set of four "S 533 R" cantilever chairs, which were designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1926. The chair is also known as the Weissenhof Chair, after the exhibition at which it was first displayed. Building on Mart Stam’s original concept, Mies van der Rohe created an improved version with a single stroke of the pen. He collaborated with the interior designer Lilly Reich to create the wickerwork design. The chairs have been rewoven and remain in good condition.
