Dimensions: approx. 50 × 77 × 82 × 44 cm (width × depth × height × seat height) Original S 533 RF armchair, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Thonet. Created in 1927, this model is one of the very first cantilever armchairs and is considered one of the major works of modern design. Inspired by the cantilever principle discovered from Mart Stam during the Weißenhof exhibition, Mies van der Rohe transformed this technical innovation into an object of exceptional architectural elegance. With its large curve in steel tubing, the S 533 has become an icon of the Bauhaus and 20th-century design. The structure is made of bent chrome-plated steel tubing, and the seat and backrest are upholstered with natural caning. The cantilever structure offers the characteristic flexibility of cantilever chairs, ensuring excellent seating comfort. Its clean design, visual transparency, and quality of craftsmanship make it a true timeless classic. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Original caning intact, with no breaks or stains. The chrome shows only a few slight signs of use related to age. A remarkable example of one of the greatest classics of Bauhaus design and Thonet.
