Refined flip-top partners desk designed by Peter Løvig Nielsen and produced by Løvig, Denmark 1954. A celebrated example of Danish mid-century cabinetmaking, it is crafted in richly figured rosewood with exceptional grain character throughout. The desk features a reversible top, Løvig’s iconic “flip-top” design, allowing it to be configured as either a writing desk or an open partners desk with an elevated organizer. When lifted and reversed, the top reveals a raised storage section with open compartments and dividers, ideal for documents and small essentials. The front of the desk offers three drawers with sculpted circular pulls, characteristic of Løvig’s refined craftsmanship. Two original keys accompany the piece. Beautiful joinery is visible throughout, including dovetailed details and finely executed transitions. Brass hinges accent the top’s mechanism and lend an elegant functional detail. Raised on a well-proportioned base with cross-stretcher supports, the desk presents a light yet architectural stance. The underside is stamped with the original Løvig Denmark mark.
