This model 530 secretaire desk, designed in 1957, marks the beginning of a successful collaboration between Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini and the renowned furniture maker Bernini. It was the first design included in Frattini's exclusive furniture collection for Bernini in 1960. The desk showcases a sophisticated blend of artisan craftsmanship and sleek functionality, characteristic of early Italian mid-century modern design. It is well-proportioned and practical, designed with ergonomics and systematic arrangement in mind, allowing efficient workspace organization. The roller shutters, with their beautiful patterns, were innovative at the time and still function well. All drawers open and close easily. The desk shows some wear from over 60 years of use, adding to its mid-century modern appeal. Both keys to the drawers are missing. The desk has two original 'Bernini Made in Italy' stickers inside two drawers, and the lower board on the left side is branded with the number '19'. This is a stylish, high-quality desk and a prime example of timeless mid-century modern design.
