Eclipse Floor Lamp Space Age Mid-Century Modern, Germany, 1960s

Vintage design. Rare space age floor lamp with an eclipse effect. The spherical reflector is positioned at the top of a long stem. It consists of two half-shells, one fixed and one adjustable. The inner shell is white and supports the lamp socket in the centre. The outer shell is red and can rotate around the inner shell. It serves as a flexible lampshade to manually control the light output. This creates an eclipse effect similar to a solar eclipse. The slender chrome stem ends with a simple disc-shaped base. The red colour of the lamp head is echoed in the base. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. The lampshade and base have a few minor dents. The power cord, switch, and plug have been professionally replaced.
