Dick Cordemeijer Cleopatra daybed for Auping in white fabric The Netherlands 1954

An iconic Cleopatra daybed designed by Dick Cordemeijer for Auping in 1954, a distinctive example of Dutch post-war modernism. The daybed features its characteristic slender black metal frame with beautifully shaped wooden end rails and the original Auping spiral-mesh construction, marked within the springs. Newly upholstered in Rocks by Buvetex, a refined white textured fabric that creates a fresh contrast with the warm wood and black frame. The upholstery is complemented by a matching cylindrical neck roll. The combination of the low, elongated silhouette, gently raised ends and contrasting materials gives the daybed its characteristic light and architectural appearance. In very good condition, fully restored, newly upholstered and ready to use.
