This vintage set is a desk and chair model in rattan attributed to the French designer Louis Sognot, made between the 1950s and 1960s. • For the desk: Its curved bamboo structure with crossed legs, a half-shelf or woven storage grid under the top, and a suspended wooden veneer cabinet housing three drawers with integrated half-moon handles. • For the chair: Its high, rounded fan-shaped back made of parallel vertical rattan rods (often referred to as a "sun" back) with a reinforced X-shaped base. Condition is fair with visible signs of wear typical for its age, which do not affect its sturdiness. • There is slight wear to the varnish and patina over a large part of the surface. The color is less uniform, and raw wood is beginning to show. • The drawer unit: The front of the top drawer has a missing veneer, and there is a small chip similar on the right side of the bottom drawer. • The structure: The legs, bindings, and rattan chair remain very sound and show no structural damage at these angles.
