Vintage Angraves desk from Leicester in caning and bamboo.

A lovely small desk or dressing table made by the British firm "Angraves of Leicester," which produced bamboo and cane furniture for nearly a century. In the 1950s and 1960s, this company established itself as the go-to reference and one of the very best manufacturers of cane and bamboo furniture in the UK. It features four drawers with bamboo handles. With beautiful clean lines, its structure is made of bamboo or curved rattan. The drawer fronts, sides, and top are covered with natural rattan cane. All woven elements are impeccable without snags, and all bindings are in place. The top comes with its original glass plate. In very good condition, this vintage desk has retained a few discreet signs of use: some marks inside the drawers, a small superficial burn on the right side of the cornice, and a few surface scratches on the glass. It is sound, stable, and robust. It has been carefully cleaned in the workshop for immediate use. The drawers slide smoothly without needing to be forced. This desk would be suitable for a child or teenager or as a small adult desk, ideal for creating a warm workspace perfect for small spaces.
