Lot of three pastel paintings (one signed but all from the same source from the artist's studio: Edouard EC Pannetier (1884-1965): see attached bio). Good condition (small traces of tape on the corners, some micro tears and folds: everything is visible in photos). Provenance: artist's family. Size of the largest: 25 / 32 cm. For any additional information or to send photos for enlargement, do not hesitate to contact me directly: sylvere.carlier@neuf.fr Edouard Pannetier (1884-1965): Edouard-Emmanuel-Charles Pannetier, Provençal painter and orientalist, was born on November 6, 1884 in Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne). Orphaned by his father, he began his artistic studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in his hometown and then at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Trained as a drawing teacher, he worked for several years in Algeria at the Lycée Lamoricière in Oran between 1910 and 1920. Back in France, he worked as a drawing teacher at the Lycée d'Aix-en-Provence around 1930. He painted numerous landscapes and genre scenes from Algeria and Provence. For the rest, he illustrated several literary works, highlighting the novel “Atala” by Chateaubriand in its 1946 edition. He died in Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris, on October 14, 1965, at the age of 80.
