The painting bears the signature "R. Lechaire" of René Lechaire (1913–1991), an artist renowned for his landscapes of Provence — and more specifically the Luberon, in Vaucluse — treated in an expressionist style with pronounced impasto. The characteristic rural topography of the work features a fortified hilltop village surrounded by cypress trees, a traditional stone house from Provence, as well as the typical limestone foothills of the Luberon regional natural park. Dimensions 81cm X 54cm. Careful shipping. No global relay please.
