Dessert table service for 12 people Art Deco "Birds" - Badonviller - 13 pieces - Earthenware / Opaque porcelain and semi-porcelain - France - Circa 1920-1930. Description: Complete table service for 12 people from the famous French factory of Badonviller (Meurthe-et-Moselle). This is the iconic "Birds" model (Exotic Parrots) in its most sought-after and refined version from the Art Deco period (circa 1920-1930). This decor features a central medallion screen-printed and colored depicting a pair of paradise parrots perched among stylized flowers. The rim of the plates is enhanced with a wide band of solid burgundy color and highlighted inside with a fine golden border. On the back of each piece is the circular stamp of the factory: "Porcelaine Opaque Badonviller" and on the semi-porcelain plates. The characteristic triangular three dots left by the cooking pins of the time can also be observed. Additional inscriptions under the base: In addition to the main stamp, the pieces bear the impressed or printed mark "FB" (Fénal Badonviller) associated with the mold/size number 65. The letter "Z" painted in fine gold, the signature of the gilding artisan of the factory responsible for applying the border, is also distinguishable. The lot consists of 13 pieces: • 12 flat/dessert plates (Diameter: 23 cm) • 1 large cake plate with flat rim (Diameter: 28.5 cm) Total net weight of the dishes (excluding packaging): 4, 630 g. Condition. Condition: Generally good condition - Used with minor signs of age and stains. Specific details: • 10 plates and the cake plate are in very good condition. The glazing is shiny, the burgundy color is vibrant, and the gilding is very well preserved for century-old pieces. No major cracks. • 1 plate shows slight surface wear on the central decor (the beak of one of the birds is partially worn).
