Rare 6 historical knife rests of original shape from the post-World War I era around 1920 in silver-plated metal. A little Lorrainer shakes hands with a little Alsatian, united by the French cockade. A strong symbol of the post-war period when Alsace and Lorraine became French again after their annexation to the German Empire in 1871, similar to the illustrator Hansi with "l'Alsace Heureuse" published in 1919. It is worth noting that the loss of Alsace-Lorraine was a real trauma for the French. Functional case probably not original. They are all marked SCHLUMBERGER. EXCELLENT CONDITION, with no loss of silver or deformation, see photo. Length: 6.7 cm Height: 2.7 cm. Other lovely items in my other sales.
