Beautiful round and extendable dining table made of solid oak, designed by Hans J. Wegner and probably manufactured in Denmark in the 1970s. Wegner is among the greatest furniture designers of the 20th century and has significantly influenced Danish Modern like few others. The table follows the line of his 1960s tables, such as the CH337 still produced by Carl Hansen & Søn: compact enough for four people and extendable to eight places with two leaves. The round and harmonious top rests on tapered legs. Under the table, Wegner's sense of construction is revealed: the apron is carefully designed and becomes a decorative element in itself. Beautiful visible screws on the legs add a fine artisanal detail and highlight the honesty of the materials and joints. The table has been fully restored and treated with hard oil-wax, which gives the solid oak a warm golden hue. The two leaves have been redone in the same shade and integrate perfectly with the whole. Condition: very good condition – fully restored, treated with hard oil-wax, with two new leaves. A timeless classic of Danish design for beautiful dining spaces. Dimensions: approximately Ø 119 × 70 cm (diameter × height), with two 50 cm leaves – open length: approximately 219 cm.
