Rare and elegant freestanding coat rack known as "G Clef", by Roger Féraud, made around 1950. It consists of a structure in blackened tubular metal, with slender and dynamic lines, evoking a graphic writing in space. The uprights cross lightly and unfold towards the top in a succession of curved volutes, explicitly reminiscent of the shape of the G clef, a recurring motif in post-war French design. The ends are punctuated by eight spheres made of painted wood in primary colours — blue, green, yellow, and red — adding a playful and chromatic note that contrasts with the rigidity of the black metal. The base rests on four slender legs, ensuring perfect stability while maintaining an impression of great visual lightness. A central circular ring reinforces the structure and accentuates the sculptural dimension of the whole.
