Robot 619 furniture by Mario Botta

The Robot 619 model furniture designed by Mario Botta is a very particular piece: rising like a totem, it can adapt to small spaces and serves both as a chest of drawers but also as a writing desk in its upper part. The nine drawers slide freely and independently around the central pivot which acts as a supporting structure and raises the drawers from the floor. On the top floor of this resolutely modern piece of furniture, Mario Botta imagined a writing desk that folds down, revealing some storage spaces. This remarkable work is made up of metal for the central column and nine drawers in MDF (wood fiber composite material), all black lacquered. Edition: Alias, circa 1989.
