In this listing, you will find a striking vintage Persian Qom rug made of silk on a cotton base. The rug features a classic "Shekargah" scene or hunting scene. The "Shekargah" motif represents a royal hunting ground. Common visible elements include: fauna: deer (symbolising beauty/love), gazelles (overcoming adversity), and tigers or leopards (strength/power). Floral borders: intricate twisted vines and floral bouquets frame the active central scene. The deep navy blue or indigo background provides a contrasting backdrop for the delicate ivory, pink, and turquoise silk threads. Handwoven in the 1930s. The rug is worn due to its use, so the pile is thin. However, there are no damages. Upon shipping, you will receive the tracking number for your parcel.
