Isfahan wool and silk rug circa 1970 - 163x107cm

Beautiful animal rug from Isfahan, Central Persia, circa 1970. Wool and silk in a very fine knot on a silk warp. Niche field with a red silk background and an ascending pattern of flowering trees, birds, hunting predators and fleeing deer, pale green sill fields with grapes and birds, light blue main border with a multitude of animals, birds and rabbits in a landscape. High quality lambswool pile called "kork" and silk. Dimensions: 163x107 cm. Condition: Fringes worn and shortened by time and wear on the last small border, otherwise in good condition.
