Nantes Commode from Port in Cuban Mahogany – 2nd part of the 18th century

This Nantes chest of drawers, made of Cuban mahogany with a curved front, opens with three identical drawers fitted with bronze handles featuring rosettes. Each drawer is equipped with a functional authentic lock with the original key and a later key. The half-round uprights with recesses are set on snail feet. The lower rail is moulded and shaped. The sides are made of a single panel with an inner moulding and a curved upper rail. The top, made from a single board, is also moulded around the edge in a corbin beak style.
