Bakelite clock

This small clock was published in the 80s by the english firm "the useful company" which has since disappeared. In the midst of the postmodern period, this publishing house adept at the "useful beauty" of objects supports the functional style and adds different references arts deco or memphis, to its productions. The result is atypical objects such as this small clock whose bakelite evokes the 30s but which is equipped with a modern quartz mechanism. It can be placed in 2 different ways on the edge or standing, and thus radically changes its physiognomy. This copy was slightly chipped without consequence on its appearance. Marked on the back with the publisher's name, but unknown designer. The closing plate at the back has disappeared.
