Superb Napoleon III Lady's Dressing Table in Walnut and Floral Marquetry. The elegance of the Second Empire within your reach. This charming little occasional dressing table (historically called a "work table") is a character piece from the Napoleon III era. Made of walnut veneer, it stands out with its slender silhouette and refined ornaments that perfectly suit a classic interior or a contemporary boudoir. • Decorated with delicate floral marquetry in light and shaded wood, highlighted by an elegant gilded brass band that encircles the entire piece. • Four tapered and fluted legs, adorned with brass rings and gadrooned motifs (also brass decorations inserted in the flutes that have not been cleaned; I can polish them upon request), connected by an "X" stretcher topped with a brass finial. • The top lifts to reveal an original mirror and a compartmentalised storage space, ideal for organising your jewellery, cosmetics, or toiletries. • The piece is in overall good condition. The lock is functional and comes with its original key. • Please note: An old restoration has been carried out on the marquetry of the top (see photos), ensuring the overall sturdiness. The brass has retained its original patina, giving it the authentic character that collectors seek. Perfect dimensions for small spaces: • Width: 51 cm. • Depth: 34 cm. • Height: 72 cm. This versatile piece can serve as a dressing table in a bedroom, a console in an entrance hall, or a refined occasional table in a living room.
