1960's scandinavian ceiling lamp by Uluv

An original 1960’s ceiling lamp; the ultimate boho piece for your interior. It was designed and produced by by ustredi lidove umelecke tvorby (uluv) in czechoslovakia 1960’s. Uluv was established at the end of 1945 with the main goal of supporting traditional folk art and craft. Throughout the second part of the 20th century, uluv produced products by many great artists and designers in various homeware and design categories. This particular lamp, despite being produced in czechoslovakia was clearly inspired by the scandinavian aesthetics. The beauty of this lamp is in it’s detailing and the natural colour of the wood as well as in the sculptural form of the glass lampshade, The lamp is hanged on the white plastic cable. There are two wooden cylinders at the both ends. The top one operates as a cover for the wires from the ceiling. The bottom one has three small rods on its side that holds the glass cover. This solution makes it very easy to remove the glass lampshade. Inside the cylinder there is a ceramic socket for a bulb. The glass lampshade itself is sphere shaped, with nice detailing of “waves” of vertical lines coming across from the top to the bottom of the glass. The ceiling lamp is in original vintage condition with minimal wear and tear. The glass lampshade has got a small hairline crack but fortunately is not very visible and doesn't affect the stability. All parts are original and fully functional.
