Pair of ironstone plates – Salins François Ier & KG

A pair of antique flat plates made of ironstone, with blue decorations on an ivory background, from the late 19th to early 20th century: One from the Salins factory, in the François Ier pattern, featuring a crowned salamander surrounded by flames in the centre, the emblem of François Ier. Its wing is adorned with Renaissance motifs, scrolls, and medallions. The second, marked KG on the reverse, displays a richly ornamented monogram "R", accompanied by vegetal arabesques. A frieze of foliage highlights its edge. Salins plate François Ier diameter 24 cm, KG plate, monogram R diameter 23.5 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, shiny, with some patina (see photos). Two designs, two stories, one elegance.
