Old Chinese buffet in rustic style, red lacquered (1920-1950)

Small antique Chinese buffet (1880-1915) in rustic style, red lacquer, originating from Shanxi, with two drawers and two doors, made of solid wood (probably elm), original red lacquer heavily patinated, with brass fittings in the shape of a moon. Origin: Northern China (probably Shanxi), late Qing dynasty (circa 1880-1910) and the beginning of the Republic of China (1910-1930). In the Shanxi province, many small red cabinets were made for merchant houses. The round fittings and worn red lacquer are very characteristic. Note: * entirely traditional joinery; * wooden door pivots; * thick and irregular boards; * natural wear of the lacquer. Furniture in good condition and very clean.
