Sublime and of very high quality, the complex enameling and engraved pattern give this bowl an extraordinary and profound look. The pattern evokes sprigs of rosemary and reveals, thanks to the engraving technique, the different thicknesses of enamel: white, green, and finally metallic black. It is this technique that gives the decoration its unique finish and depth. The bowl is heavy and thick, with raw shapes. It is an exceptional piece that captures the light thanks to its satin finish and the metallic side of the enamel. Charles Voltz was a renowned ceramist from the 1950s in Vallauris. His works often feature geometric patterns and are intended for culinary art. He trained several students and filed a patent for ceramic decoration. Excellent condition except for a few imperfections visible in the photos. 31x22x9cm.
