Vallauris wall plate – Atelier Cérènne – 1960s

Charming little earthenware wall dish, signed by the Cérènne workshop in Vallauris (stamp under the base), with a polychrome abstract decoration typical of the 1960s. Its bright flat colors — red, green, blue, purple, orange — highlighted in brown, recall the modernist creations of Marie-Christine Treinen for Vallauris. With its pierced handle, it can be hung on the wall for a retro decor in the kitchen or placed as a colorful trinket tray in an entrance hall. A beautiful vintage piece with Riviera charm. Good decorative condition, with cracks in the enamel and small signs of use consistent with its age. The handle has been broken and reglued but without impacting its solidity (see photos).
