The suns, spirals, and geometric patterns of Robert Picault are among the most recognisable decorations of post-war Vallauris: a pioneer of the revival of local pottery since 1945, he aimed for beautiful and affordable utilitarian pieces, hand-decorated in his workshop next to Picasso's.
