Alberto Spadolini, an extravagant, delightful, and splendid figure in the artistic Parisian scene of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, a whirlwind of an artist, dancer, choreographer, sculptor, filmmaker, painter, friend of Parisian nights, confidant to the world, the marvelous Spadolini, living on the Champs-Élysées, who passed away more anonymously than his illustrious friends, but not forgotten. Here is a tiny painting, oil on linoleum, left in its found state, so moving: the Place de la Concorde at night, fountains and streetlights, the Hôtel de la Marine and the Obelisk, just steps from his home, perhaps one evening, on a late return. 28cm X 20cm.
