Large covered pot in polychrome earthenware, Asian work from the late 19th century. Important tripod covered pot richly decorated, featuring polychrome relief scenes of Chinese and Japanese themes. The body displays large figurative scenes with characters in traditional costumes, landscapes, and architecture, in a style reminiscent of famille verte / famille rose decorations. The decoration is particularly intricate with raised highlights (slip) and vibrant polychromy (blue, green, ochre, manganese). The underside is adorned with a stylised floral design. The lid is topped with a stylised chimera / Foo dog, while the side handles and feet take on fantastical zoomorphic shapes, giving the whole piece a very decorative appearance. Typical of Asian productions from the late 19th century. Dimensions: Height: 42 cm. Width: 27 cm. Depth: 23 cm. Condition: Good overall condition. Notable: Some wear to the glaze and small firing irregularities. Interior shows signs of use. A very decorative piece, ideal as a display object or centrepiece.
