Large satsuma porcelain vase from the meiji period on a gilded metal frame from the napoleon III era. On one side of the vase is depicted a deity, probably amaterasu, with children playing at his feet, who is recognizable by its golden oreole, representing the solar disk, amaterasu being the goddess of the sun. On the opposite side amaterasu with in front of her three characters in court dress, a teenager and two older men, probably emperors, indeed in japanese culture amaterasu is the ancestor of all emperors. Both scenes are framed by decorations of bamboo branches and golden foliage in light relief, typical of satsuma porcelain, are presented on a black-brown glaze. The base of the vase has feet in lion's feet, surmounted by leaves and foliage, the strapping has two crowns of foliage and flowers chiseled in metal. The neck of the vase has a strapping with openwork gallery, punctuated by two volute handles. This napoleon 3 period frame takes up the characteristics of the louis 15 style. Japan XIX century.
