XL Murano glass pendant light by Doria Leuchten, Germany circa 1970

Magnificent XL pendant light circa 1970 from the famous and renowned German lighting house Doria Leuchten. Completely in the Space Age spirit, its dome-shaped diffuser in Murano marble blown glass with its embedded micro-air bubbles depicts a galaxy in shades of green and brown when off and a sumptuous brown and cognac when lit. The interior is milky white. There is a finishing ring on the lower edge as well as a gallery on the top of the chrome-plated aluminum dome with its wire guide rod. The latter is reinforced by a cable (significant weight of the luminaire) which allows height adjustment up to 60 cm. The total diameter of the dome is 40 cm (24 cm for the gallery) and 22 cm in height. Finally, there is the chrome-plated aluminum ceiling light measuring 6.5 cm in diameter and 7 cm in height. In excellent condition (a chip in the white inner layer at the top near the socket, invisible when the light is in place), this sublime pendant light will bring incredible class and lots of warmth to a large hall or a kitchen in the dining area.
