Nils thorsson for royal copenhagen alumina glazed earthenware baca bowl, abstract design, circa 1960s beautiful pieces of high-level danish craftsmanship signed and numbered nils thorsson (1898-1975) first emerged as an artist when he exhibited a series of vases (the autumn series) in 1925, which were awarded a gold medal at the paris world exhibition. From 1930 he became artistic director of the aluminia fiance factory and from 1949 he was artistic supervisor of the stoneware department of the royal copenhagen porcelain factory. Thorsson's works are represented at the Copenhagen Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Institute of Technology, the Museum of Porcelain Manufactory, the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, the National Museum, Stockholm, and the Faenza Ceramics Museum.
