Unique Danish Studio Pottery – sculptural teapot with bamboo handle. Denmark, second half of the 20th century. Grog-infused stoneware; matte glaze in shades of off-white and beige with fine iron mineral inclusions; bamboo. Signed near the base with an incised mark/artist's stamp ("FIRST" / monogram). Dimensions: length 30 cm|width 11 cm|height 25 cm. Weight: 1, 635 g. Condition: Very good. Natural, patinated bamboo handle with intact textile/organic bindings. The surfaces remain in a completely authentic, pristine state. This piece is an outstanding example of Danish studio pottery, blending the rigor of Nordic modernism with the organic aesthetic of the Japanese *Wabi-sabi* tradition. The exceptionally rare, horizontally oriented, arched teapot form evokes traditional boats or curved architectural silhouettes. Eschewing the conventional separation of body and spout, the piece is treated sculpturally; the sharply defined, geometric spout serves as a fluid, monolithic extension of the main body. The stoneware surface features a distinctive, granular texture ("sandy stoneware") with visible mineral speckling, softened by a subtle matte glaze. The composition is completed by a tall, contoured bamboo handle attached to integrated stoneware lugs, introducing a warm, natural harmony. It is a piece with a strong architectural character, balancing on the boundary between functional ceramics and autonomous sculpture.
