Kokeshi yajiro by yukiko inoue

Very nice giant kokeshi yajiro style with a rattle head. It was directed by yukiko inoue (1932-2010). Kokeshi are traditional wooden dolls from tohoku (toy, souvenir of onsen) whose origins date back to the end of the edo period. The traditional kokeshi, with a very graphic style, are divided into different styles that vary according to their region of origin and each has specific characteristics of the craftsman who gave them life. These beautiful handicrafts emblematic of japan are the delight of collectors, their timeless ethnic style easily find its place in our interiors.
