Side chair 'Troja' by Kai Kristiansen

This side chair was designed by Kai Kristiansen and produced by Magnus Olesen for Ikea in Denmark in 1959. The original name of the chair was 'Troy', but Ikea changed it to 'Troja' and featured it in its 1960 catalogue. This elegant yet sturdy chair, with a dark teak wood frame and original light green velvet upholstery, is ideal as a desk or dining chair. The enveloping shape of the backrest, which extends into the armrests, makes this piece another gem from the master Danish designer. The back legs show some signs of wear at the bottom; otherwise, it is in very good original condition.
