C140 armchair, known as the Playboy chair, designed by Jens Risom around 1960 and produced by Risom Manufacturing Corp., North Grosvenordale, Connecticut. The structure is made of solid teak with clean architectural lines, slightly angled straight armrests, and well-defined legs. The seat and backrest are upholstered in polyurethane foam, as indicated on the original label, and covered in black leather. The proportions are balanced, and the design remains functional and understated, characteristic of Jens Risom's American modernist production in the early 1960s. The original label preserved under the seat states "Jens Risom Design" and "Made by Risom Manufacturing Corp., North Grosvenordale, Conn.", confirming an authentic American production from that era. Manufacturer: Risom Manufacturing Corp., North Grosvenordale, Connecticut, around 1960.
