Pair of Victorian brass fire dogs from the late 19th century.
Pair of antique fire dogs (or "fire dogs") in solid brass. From the late 19th or early 20th century, they fit perfectly into the classical and Victorian style. Each fire dog consists of an elegant turned vertical shaft, topped with a baluster-shaped finial. Perfect for dressing the hearth of an old fireplace or adding a touch of retro elegance and warmth to a contemporary interior. In very good vintage condition. The brass has a superb patina that reflects its authenticity. A few rare signs of oxidation. Solid and stable structure. The horizontal iron bars at the back (which support the logs) are well present and robust. Weight 1.2kg.
