Maison Lecan presents this side table made from a 19th-century solid oak press screw, repurposed as an interior piece of furniture. The hand-carved oak screw forms a beautifully regular threaded shaft — its successive rings create a play of shadows and light that gives it a true sculptural presence. The patina is dark and deep, nourished by over a century of use. A few natural cracks in the wood serve as a reminder of the piece's age, without compromising its solidity. The original metal base is solid and raw, with a character that is both industrial and rustic, typical of old tools. The circular wooden top completes the ensemble in a simple manner.
