This is a lovely French soup tureen produced by FF Pexonne called Campagne, countryside, from around the 1900s period. It is decorated with little images of birds and farm animals: sheep, pig, and cows. It is a perfect fruit bowl for a farm house, especially charming for a working farm with cows and sheep. It is a large serving bowl with a foot, WITHOUT A LID, made of ironstone, or terre de fer. They make great visual pieces in a farmhouse or cottage. Clearly it could be used for many things, serving pasta, serving fruit salad, a fruit bowl or just as a decoration piece. It is in good condition for its age but there are marks of previous use. Please see all the photos carefully. Width, handle to handle: approx 28.5cm/11.2 inches. Diameter of bowl rim: 21cm/8.7 inches. Height: 17cm/6.7 inches.
