Large antique cache-pot in glazed porcelain, rockwork decoration with a bird, 19th century.

Very beautiful large decorative planter in glazed porcelain, unsigned, French work, probably Paris porcelain. An antique piece from the late 19th century, Napoleon III circa 1870-1890. Beautiful ample shape on a pedestal, with a deep grey background, adorned with a rich polychrome decoration painted and glazed by hand in relief in the rococo style: a large bird in flight, garlands of flowers, tied ribbons, foliage, rococo motifs, and gilded highlights. The decoration spreads widely across the body and contrasts particularly well with the grey background. The upper edge and foot are highlighted by a wide gilded frieze. 18cm in height for the body alone, 20.5cm total height with the base, 22cm in diameter at the opening, approximately 23-24cm maximum diameter. Very good overall condition considering its age. There are numerous small, more or less discreet, chips in the glaze within the decoration and also on the frieze where it is practically absent, some areas showing slight wear to the gilding, with some more pronounced on the sides, particularly at the foot. There is also a star-shaped chip under the base and an X-shaped chip inside, on the lower part of one side. These defects remain invisible from the outside and are not compromising. The whole remains very harmonious, rare, and particularly decorative. 2.160kg. Very good overall condition considering its age.
