Antique water jar in brass - Ghada - India

Impressive traditional ancient water jar in engraved brass (Ghada). This characterful piece stands out with its two massive carrying rings, riveted to the neck. The jar features a delicate handcrafted engraving in dotted lines representing a tree of life, as well as an inscription carved in Hindi script. Superb patina with slight variations in texture. Period: mid-20th century.
