Very beautiful water butter dish that allows you to keep butter outside the refrigerator so that it is malleable for spreading while preventing it from going rancid. It is made of Puisaye stoneware with a very pretty glaze, slightly pyrite, mixing soft and comforting tones: beige, caramel and chocolate, material and colors typical of the 70s. It is not signed, but you can recognize at first glance the very particular work on the glaze of Jean-Pierre Prud'homme. This ceramist did not sign all his pieces, especially when they were part of a larger service. And further proof if any were needed: I found it among other pieces signed JP these. The shape is also interesting: elegant and original, very rounded like all the pieces of this ceramist. A very beautiful handcrafted work by Jean-Pierre Prud'homme who founded with his wife a pottery workshop in 1971 in Monnaie, working with clay from the Nièvre (Puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today (Au grès du vent workshop), it is run by his son Benoît Prud'homme who took over in the 1990s-2000s and also creates very beautiful ceramics. This set dates from the 70s and is in perfect condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip. It consists of two pieces, a container for water which measures 8 cm in height, 13 cm in diameter at the base. And the butter receptacle that is placed on top which measures 8 cm in total height, 11 cm in width including the handle. The total height when the two pieces are "assembled" is approximately 10 cm. I offer several other ceramics by Jean-Pierre Prud'homme, do not hesitate to take a look at my shop here and to contact me if you wish to order several so that I can adjust the shipping costs for a grouped shipment.
