Danish teak daybed in black leather in Hans Wegner style, 1960s

This Danish mid-century modern teak daybed was crafted during the 1960s. Due to the used materials and the form, the furniture is reminiscent of Hans Wegner’s designs from the same era. Overall dimensions are H: 31 / W: 87 / D: 194 cm. The outstanding features of this piece are the original bent solid teak frame paired with a new quilted mattress upholstered in natural black leather. The addition of a decorative bolster enhances its elegance and comfort, especially when it is time for a longer nap. A traditionally crafted quilted mattress in high-quality leather with new foam inside will ensure proper support for one's back and will guarantee the longevity of this piece, most likely another several decades. A nicely profiled wooden frame with gently rounded corners not only keeps the mattress stable but also perfectly harmonizes with the upholstery, creating a timeless design.
