The Knoll Barcelona Daybed is an iconic design by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. In 1929, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was asked to design the German Pavilion for the World Exposition in Barcelona. He created a stunning ensemble featuring the Barcelona Chair and Ottoman at its centre. Following the success of these pieces, a daybed was introduced in 1930 to complete the series. Like the chair, the daybed is characterised by a high level of detail. Each of the 72 squares is hand-stitched and adorned with buttons, all made from a single piece of top-quality leather. The comfortable cushion is interwoven with leather straps to the polished chrome steel frame. The platform on which the cushion rests is made of ash wood and painted in a dark walnut colour. The cushion also stays neatly in place thanks to the leather straps. So, it will be wonderfully relaxing! The Barcelona Daybed measures 196 centimetres wide, 44 centimetres high, and 89 centimetres deep. With the cushion, the height is 65 centimetres.
