Barcelona Daybed, designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and manufactured by Knoll International. The last director of the Bauhaus and one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, Mies van der Rohe left a significant mark on modernism with his motto "Less is more." The Barcelona Daybed is among his most famous pieces and is still produced in its original form by Knoll today. The daybed combines rigorous geometry with top-notch craftsmanship: the dark walnut frame rests on chrome-plated tubular steel legs; it features a generous mattress with the characteristic pattern of upholstered leather panels, hand-stitched, along with a matching bolster. It is covered in Knoll's soft, brown Venezia leather, which gives the sleek form a warm and noble presence. Knoll labels can be found under the mattress and on one of the chrome legs; a certificate of authenticity from Knoll is also provided. Condition: showroom model in nearly new condition – only a few signs of use, with leather, frame, and chrome in excellent condition. An interesting alternative to buying new, with a significant discount off the retail price. A timeless design classic for discerning interiors. Dimensions: approx. 196 × 98 × 65 cm (width × depth × height)
