Antique Painted Folk art bridal chest

This beautiful antique bridal chest dates from the 19th century and features highly decorative painting. This piece comes from Germany or Austria and is a wonderful example of folk art from the period. It was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a wedding gift to the couple. These pieces were later placed in a show room on the farm, which was only rarely used for important guests or special occasions. All our bridal chests have been checked and, if necessary, restored, while retaining their characteristic appearance. This piece is very large in size and decorated with panels and floral paintings.
