This exceptional accent lamp has been entirely converted from an original vase by Carstens Tönnieshof from the 1960s. The characteristic handled vase is a typical example of West German studio ceramics: a powerful shape with a bulbous body and a prominent handle. The expressive glaze combines a deep black at the neck with a lively decor in red, cream, and structured grey at the bottom. The relief surface highlights the sculptural character of the vase. Vase dimensions: height approximately 26 cm, diameter 18 cm. Total height with lampshade approximately 57 cm, lampshade: 30 X 30 cm. The lampshade (30 cm in diameter) is made from high-quality Japanese cotton fabric and comes from Roomlight Studio. The traditional dragon pattern in blue, cream, and red subtly takes on the colour accents of the vase and creates an exciting connection between German ceramics and Eastern textile tradition. In warm light, the fabric reveals its fine structure. The dragon pattern appears lively - a unique presentation of space with character. Converted into a lamp (cable version). The conversion to a lamp is done entirely in a way that respects the object: • no drilling / no irreversible interventions. • the original collectible value remains intact. • black E27 socket. • discreet transparent cable - outdoor - with switch - up to 120 volts. This vase lamp is a true one-of-a-kind piece with collectible character. It combines mid-century ceramics from the 60s with handmade textile design as an accent lamp in the living room, bedroom, or as a special design object in the room.
