Display cabinet – Parisian Louis XVI / Neoclassical style / mahogany / early 19th century. Superb display cabinet in Louis XVI style, richly adorned with gilded bronzes and topped with marble shelves. An elegant and decorative piece, ideal as a display or entrance furniture. Made of mahogany, with a central glass-fronted section framed by finely crafted gilded moulding. The central part forms a tall display case with an interior shelf, perfect for showcasing art objects, porcelain, antique books, or collections. On either side, two side shelves in veined red marble rest on small boxes, each incorporating a front drawer. The drawers are decorated with gilded bronze accents and fitted with stylised handles. The whole is enhanced by: gilded friezes at the top, columns adorned with decorative drops, gilded fillets and frames, and turned tapered legs. The interior is finished in deep red, providing contrast and elegance. Condition: Generally good condition. Note: Signs of use and micro-scratches consistent with age, slight wear to gilding in places, small marks on the marble. Structure is sound and stable.
