Born in Bohemia in 1855, Linke settled in Paris in 1881 where he established his now-famous workshop and showroom. The quality of Linke's work quickly spread throughout France, and he soon eclipsed the largest furniture houses in Paris. Today, Linke is regarded as one of the most significant furniture makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and his works are highly sought after by collectors. Linke is famous for designing very innovative furniture by combining the Rococo style with the Art Nouveau trends of Paris.
