Based on traditional campaign furniture, the chair is constructed without fixed joinery, relying on tension and proportion to hold the frame together. The result is a piece that feels practical and well judged, with a clear and honest structure. The oak frame has a warm tone with a visible grain that becomes more defined in changing light. It has been lightly refinished to bring out the natural character of the timber, leaving a soft, low sheen. The leather is original and has aged to a deep amber colour, with natural variation across the surface and a consistent patina built up over time.
